Welcome to my newly designed blog
Hi, I'm Rebecca, but, if you're lucky I'll let you call me Bec. I like rainy days and make a fool of myself singing along in the car. I have a fabulous new husband and like to say 'YAY'. A lot. I'm a wedding and portrait photographer and absolutely love my job. Now that I've told you a bit about my story, allow me to capture yours.

As I type this, I can hardly keep my head up. No, seriously, I think Pete will have to come by and put a spatula between my head and the desk, I’m that tired. Weddings start back again tomorrow and I am uber excited. And by uber, I mean do a little jig excited.

In other news, meet Jazmine. Jas has been doing a little work experience with me, and she’ll be hanging around a lot more. So, get used to seeing her around. I stole her for a mini-shoot the other day.

Don’t forget to leave her some blog comment luvin at the bottom!

I love this series.

Melissa is inspiring. Amazing. Beautiful. Angelic. But especially, inspiring. You see, Melissa is  member of my gym, and at the start of the year, she began a 3 month challenge set by my gym. 15kgs heavier. Yep, she’s THAT awesome. She’s inspired me this week to go back to the gym and lose the 20 odd kgs I’ve put on this past 5 years. Yep, as I said,  she’s THAT awesome.

Melissa, congratulations on your Uh-mayzing new body and new lease on life. I had such a wonderful time hanging out with you and Jeremy last weekend and you guys were such troopers, despite all the headaches and knee pains. I can’t wait to show you the rest of the pics on the weekend!

Enjoy!

Mel, you’re so glam!

Possibly my fave from the shoot.

After the glam it was time to slip into something more comfortable. Like footy jerseys! Why is it Mel can even make a footy jersey look good?

This one might be my fave too!

This past year has been insane and I’ll be honest with you all. I have found it really, scratch that, extremely hard to stay on top of my business and especially my blog. I find it hard to believe that there are actually people out there reading and are interested in what I have to say, because, let’s face it, I’m really not that interesting. And I honestly don’t think I’m that good of a photographer. The thing that keeps me going is that I absolutely LOVE my job, and I love my clients. The rest just falls in to place, and my clients love my work. That’s why they hire me and they’re the ones that matter.

So I’m asking you all for a favour. Everyone. I need some inspiration. Having only had the business running full steam for 12 months, I’m trying to kick it off the ground so I can comfortably do it full time. One way you guys can help is by commenting. Leaving just a little comment below, even telling me what you’re having for dinner, can make all the difference to this small boutique studio. More comments leads to more traffic, which eventually leads to more shoots for me. And let’s face it, it’s a win win for all. :-)

Thanks friends. I’ll leave you all with some snaps from a recent boudoir shoot.

Happy Wednesday!

Abbey is awesome. That is all. I would like to introduce you webbians to the newest member of the RDP team. Abbey will be available for hair and make-up for all my portrait sessions, engagement sessions plus! weddings! You can book her through me and for any enquiries, feel free to call me or shoot me an email. Anyways, nuff said, on to the pics. I said to her that as a member of RDP, she has to have a portrait session, because, let’s face it, everyone has to have a portrait session. Ev-ry-one.

Abbey, you’re so glam.

I politely asked the local workmen to “check her out”. It made for  funny photo. What can I say? Surely the girl’s used to it.Look at her!

Ray Ban should totally employ me to shoot their commercials.

Whoa, what a roller coaster couple of weeks. Pete and I celebrated out first wedding anniversary last week and we went away on a road trip. Not just any road trip, but a Bathurst inspired, Mudgee winery attending holiday. But I’ll be blogging that tomorrow. For now, I want to tell you about Jorgia. Jorgia is the daughter of my boss when I was working at the studio in Ryde and she was and always is an absolute dream to photograph. I’ve always wanted to do a Breakfast at Tiffany’s inspired shoot with e little girl and I also worked it in with a competition I’m entering later in the month. I can’t say too much at this stage about it, but I can show you some. I hope you like. If you do, leave some comment love at the end!

Just letting y’all know, I’m totally in holiday mode so will be away from the office until Friday. Pete and I have headed over the mountains and are road trippin’ it around the Bathurst-Mudgee area. I’m so gonna race around Mt. Panorama tomorrow. O.K. Maybe not race, but I’ll enjoy the view. We went for a premature drive around the course today. You know, just to check it out before the big hum dinga tomorrow. Hehe.

But for now, enjoy this little view of the husband in the most awesomest of bookshops we found in Katoomba yesterday. This was taken on Pete’s iPhone. Please don’t hate.

More pics to come later in the week.

This story came first hand. I tell no lie. They’re like my family. No no, they ARE my family. Carissa is my best bud. We’ve been friends since uni and she has 2 of the most amazing girls you’ll ever meet, and as far as I’m concerned, I’m family. And so I hear Ella thinks so too. Well… maybe a good friend. Either way, I’m her friend.

This story makes me happy all day long. We’re pretty sure Macailah and Ella think I’m their friend, not Carissa’s. Which I’m O.K. with. (Carissa, you know I love you, but it’s true, we’re only friends because of your kids and your smokin’ bod). Carissa and Ella were reading a story. Not just any story. A princess story. I was sold then and there, but trust me, there’s more to the story. They were reading and it turned out the princess’ name was Bec (and so it should be). Ella turns to Carissa and says:

“Bec.. as in.. as in.. MY Bec? MY Bec.”

Yes interwebs, I’m hers. And I love it.

Girls, you are amazing and are both going to grown into amazing, powerful women, and I can’t wait to be around to witness it.

A few weeks ago, Pete and I got to have a slumber party at our place with Macailah and Ella. Possibly the bestest slumber party I’ve ever been to.

We went to the park. Yeah, Pete and I are totally cool.

I heart lens flare. Plus, I heart Macailah.

Happy Thursday. How in the WORLD did it get to be Thursday? It scares me how fast the days go by.

July 28, 2010

As I’ve said before, they make me all mushy. Mushy and Gooey. Kinda like how Pete likes his peas on top of a meat pie. Yes, THAT mushy. But when that guy turns up at my door in his bright yellow and black suit, I scream like a girl. The fact that I AM a girl plays no part here because I would totally do it if I were a boy. Not ashamed to admit it. So would. So, when my door buzzer buzzed last week, this particular day was no exception. I screamed. Like. A. Girl.

Sean & Emmy’s and Katrina’s album arrived. Both so completely different in every way and I’m absolutely stoked with the outcome of both. A few framed prints arrived also. I kinda wish I was getting married again so I could order another one. Just for me. :-) Leather craftsmen never fail to amaze me. Ab-so-loot CHAMPIONS! Enjoy!

July 27, 2010

Gah, where does the time go? I just can’t stay on top of it and it gets faster as I get older. Anyway, that’s not the point of this post. This post is to celebrate Steve and Tina. These guys are absolute champions and I had such a ball running around Milsons Point with them last week. They’re getting married in a couple of months and I have no doubt that the wedding will be one to remember. I’m so excited.

Steve and Tina, I’m so excited to get to know you and honoured that you picked me to photograph your wedding.

They brought their dogs along to the shoot. What was it they say never work with dogs or children? I think these guys would give that phrase a big giant run for its money and prove it wrong all over. They were champions.

This is Coco. She’s pretty much awesome.

I realise Steve has his eyes closed, but I love love LOVE everything this image says. They’re so happy it makes me smile every time I look at it.

Happy Mondays!

Fiona is a friend. Originally a friend of a friend, but I think after our uber-fun photo-sesh, we’re like this (In case y’all couldn’t tell, I’m holding my two fingers up). Fiona was looking for some pics for her new EP being lauched later in the year, and I was more than happy to oblige. With her infectious laugh and fab smile, she was not at ALL hard to photograph. My job was the easy part!

Fi, thanks so so SO much for an amazingly fun afternoon. I can’t wait to show you the rest of the pics!

Happy Tuesday!
